Tom Jenkins, Ashford Borough Council
Ashford Borough Council appointed CPG to undertake a post-Covid Business Support Programme for our town centre businesses in Ashford and Tenterden. The programme aimed to provide tailored support to businesses, including a small grant scheme, to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and look to grow or stabilise their enterprises.
The objectives for the programme were to support turnover and profit growth for the participant businesses, increase their online presence and sales, reduce town centre vacancy rates and improve business survival rates. The programme ran from May 2021 to November 2022 and was well received by the nearly 40 businesses that took part. Anecdotally the businesses have said that the advisers were very knowledgeable and very helpful, going above and beyond to help solve problems.
From the council’s perspective Helen and Ray were great to work with, very knowledgeable and able to activate a wide network of contacts to help with any issues. They were professional, flexible where needed, always engaging and ready to help. CPG have delivered a targeted but quality business support programme for us and our business community.
